Small live online Chemistry class community for IGCSE and A-Level students in Qatar

Which exam boards do schools in Qatar follow?

British-curriculum schools in Qatar mostly enter students for either the Pearson Edexcel or Cambridge exam boards — Edexcel IGCSE (4BI1 / 4CH1) and the Edexcel International A-Level (IAL) on one side, Cambridge IGCSE (0610 / 0620) on the other. The live classes on this page teach the Edexcel specifications directly, and Cambridge IGCSE students are supported with dedicated Cambridge solved past papers and notes, because the underlying Biology and Chemistry content is largely shared between the boards.

What every student in Qatar gets

Two levels, one system. Whether your child is in Year 10 facing the IGCSE or in Year 13 facing the final IAL units, the weekly machinery is the same — and everything is included in the class fee.

  • A teaching lesson and a paper lesson

Each subject gets a content lesson plus a separate session solving real past-paper questions against the mark scheme, every single week.

  • Homework that comes back marked

Written feedback shows exactly which marking points were missed — the difference between knowing the science and scoring it.

  • Notes and solved papers in the fee

Full notes and unit-by-unit solved past papers are part of the programme. There is nothing extra to buy.

  • Recordings and direct support

Every lesson is recorded, and students message the teacher directly on WhatsApp when they are stuck.

Choose your level

Students in Qatar join the group that matches their level — and most IGCSE students continue straight into the IAL groups after their exams.

A note from Mr Hosni

For all the students and parents in Doha weighing up their options — here is the honest picture. It's been over two decades of teaching Biology and Chemistry to Gulf students, and the Qatari students in my groups have one advantage over almost everyone else: they come from schools that take the sciences seriously. So what goes wrong? The exam wording. A student explains osmosis beautifully in class, then writes an answer the examiner cannot credit.

That gap has a fix, and the fix is repetition against real papers. Every week, my students solve genuine exam questions and compare their answers with what we call the command words — describe, explain, evaluate — because each one demands a different shape of answer. Do that for a full year and the exam stops being a surprise. It becomes a routine.

The groups stay small on purpose. I read every homework myself, and I know which of my students in Qatar is behind before they know it themselves. Join a class, watch how it runs, and decide from there. I wish you all best of luck in your exam.

Results from students in Qatar

Up-to-date papers and crystal-clear answers that cover the mark scheme. The guidance on phrasing long 6-mark responses improved my writing a lot.

Loved how the MCQs were solved with full working — now I know why an option is right or wrong.

Questions from families in Qatar

What time are the classes in Qatar?

Qatar is GMT+3, the same timezone the schedule is written in, so lessons land in the late afternoon and evening after the Doha school day. Recordings cover anything missed.

How big are the groups?

Deliberately small — small enough that the teacher marks every student's homework personally and knows each student's weak topics by name.

My child sits Cambridge IGCSE. Is that a problem?

No. The live teaching follows Edexcel, and Cambridge students receive dedicated Cambridge (0610 / 0620) solved past papers and notes; the science itself overlaps heavily.

Can my child start with IGCSE and continue to A-level?

That is the normal path. Most IGCSE students in the programme move directly into the IAL groups, and the transition is planned before the IGCSE exams finish.

What payment methods work from Qatar?

Standard bank and credit cards go through normally, and PayPal is available as a backup — no PayPal account needed.
